The CX-30 is the much-anticipated new model from Mazda. It’s a compact crossover SUV that, according to Mazda lead designer Naohito Saga, is aimed at “people who are still single … or maybe just starting a family.” Just how well does the Mazda CX-30 achieve that aim?
Let’s take a closer look at what it has to bring to the table.
The 2020 Mazda CX-30 is offered in four different trims, each with a FWD and AWD variant.
Naturally, with each trim, features are improved and added, including leather upholstery, a Bose audio system, heated seats, and a sunroof. However, all trims come Bluetooth connectivity, two USB inputs, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. CX-30 owners can also lock/unlock their vehicle, start it, and pull up diagnostic information with their mobile devices via the MyMazda app.
The CX-30 is the newest Mazda vehicle. It features an all-new design designed to fit between a CX-3 and a CX-5. The CX-30 sits on the Mazda3 chassis, giving it a low center of gravity. It also shares the brilliant Mazda3 engine. The 2.5L Skyactiv-G four-cylinder is an efficient and powerful engine that puts out 186 horsepower and ft-lbs of torque alike. It comes with a smooth 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission.
The 2020 CX-30 comes with an impressive list of standard safety features. Here are a few key ones: automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive stop-and-go cruise control, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring with rear-cross traffic alert. This is paired with a 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
