Powertrain Options

The Mazda CX-5 has one of two engines under the hood: the 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder and its turbocharged variant. The base 2.5-liter puts out 187 horses and 186 lb-ft of torque. This engine is standard on the Sport, Touring, Carbon Edition, and Grand Touring trims. The turbocharged 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder is powerhouse. It clocks in at 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque with regular fuel. Switch out regular fuel for premium and you’ll end up with 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. The Carbon Edition Turbo, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature trims come standard with the turbo-four. AWD is available on Sport, Touring, Carbon Edition, Carbon Edition Turbo, and Grand Touring. AWD is standard on the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature.

Safety Suite

Safety is important. That’s why every 2021 CX-5, no matter the trim, has the i-Activsense suite. It includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, rain-sensing windshield wipers, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rearview camera. Higher trims have additional driver assistive features, such as front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, reverse automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitoring, adaptive headlights, and a heads-up display.

Integrated Tech

The 2021 CX-5 will keep you connected, even at the base trim. Standard features include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and two USB ports. There are other available features as well, like a 10-speaker Bose sound system, a 7-inch digital gauge display, integrated navigation, a universal garage door opener, and more.
