Subcompact crossovers are one of the fastest growing vehicle segments, and a nameplate that outshines the competition is the 2018 Mazda CX-3, with its excellent performance, impressive handling, advanced safety features and stylish and versatile design. See how it stacks up against one of its subcompact crossover competitors in this 2018 Mazda CX-3 vs 2018 Honda HR-V comparison.

Advantages of 2018 Mazda CX-3

The 2018 Mazda CX-3 also has the advantage for safety. It offers all of the safety features that helped the previous-year model earn the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety "Top Safety Pick+" rating, while adding standard Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) for all trims. If faced with a potential collision in a low speed driving situation, the SCBS system will automatically apply brake pressure — which makes it a good feature to have in the stop-and-start traffic that one frequently encounters on city streets. The CX-3 also comes standard with a rearview camera and an anti-theft system for all trims, while Blind Sport Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert comes standard for CX-3 Touring and above.

Inside the CX-3, the cabin is well-equipped with a wide array of features. The MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment system features a user-friendly 7" touchscreen, with the ability to access music, navigation and many other features through voice commands. The CX-3 also offers the incredible sound experience of the available BOSE® audio system, as well access to many radio stations via available HD radio and SiriusXM satellite radio. For cargo convenience and versatility, the CX-3 comes standard with 60/40 split-fold rear seats, while the available Power Glass Roof gives you a wonderful view out of the top of the vehicle.
